Dear colleagues,
Over the past months, we have made real progress in strengthening safety across our projects. Greater presence on sites, more timely interventions and stronger engagement with subcontractors have led to clear improvements in our safety indicators and better control of high‑risk activities. This momentum matters, and to sustain it, we must remain focused and disciplined.
Global Safety Time Out on 28 April 2026
On Tuesday 28 April, we will hold a group‑wide Global Safety Time Out. Whether you work on site or in the office, this moment is an opportunity to:
- Reflect on how we carry out our work;
- Ask critical questions: are we running things safely, where can we improve;
- Commit to small but meaningful actions, both as individuals and as teams, to strengthen safety.
In 2025, we also experienced a number of critical accidents with human impact, including line‑of‑fire situations. These events remind us that some of our most common activities always require full attention. For this reason, Life Saving Rule #3 – Line of Fire is the theme of GSTO 2026, focusing on three recurring risks:
- Mobile equipment and vehicles
- Lifted loads
- Pressurised systems
Operational leaders, project teams and Health and Safety referents have received support material available in 23 languages to help animate the Global Safety Time Out on sites. We count on you to participate actively and contribute to these sessions.
Webinar on stress management
This year, we are also offering an additional session on stress management for all employees, both on site and at the office. This session is designed to:
- Improve understanding of stress and its warning signals
- Share practical examples of managing stress at work
- Strengthen our culture of empathy, care and resilience
This session will be live at the Brussels head office or online via our e-Academy platform, and of course available any time, any where in replay on the same platform. You can register here. Use your Company Single Sign-On to access the platform. [For BESIX Watpac colleagues who do not have access to the BESIX Group Academy platform, a recording of the session will be shared after the event.]
Every person on our sites deserves safe working conditions, every day. Protecting them is a shared responsibility and a reflection of the culture we want to build at BESIX Group. Let us continue to reinforce this momentum together.
Thank you for your attention, and above all, for your commitment.
