Jacques Delens, in partnership with the general contractor In Advance, has been awarded a new maintenance contract covering the European Parliament buildings in Brussels.
This is a four-year framework contract, renewable for one year, for current works. The project includes the renovation of various European Parliament buildings, the first phase of which will start this summer. The first phase will include the renovation of the sanitary facilities, the securing of access, the creation of a large terrace and some modifications to the offices.
This is excellent news for the group. Jacques Delens and BESIX can look back on a long history of collaboration with the European institutions in Brussels. In 2019, Jacques Delens was already awarded a contract for the renovation of offices in the European Parliament buildings in Brussels.
In 2016, Jacques Delens and BESIX delivered the 'Wilfried Martens' office building for the European Parliament, named after the former Belgian Prime Minister and former president of the European People's Party. This architectural masterpiece has been awarded BREEAM Excellent certification.
BESIX also contributed to the creation of the Espace Leopold, which includes the railway station and the new European Parliament buildings, delivered in 2008.
With the new framework contract for current works, Jacques Delens and the BESIX group are strengthening their partnership with the European Parliament and confirming their expertise in renovation.
