It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed colleague and friend, Mr Bechara Soussou. For nearly five decades, from 1968 until his well-earned retirement in 2017, Mr Soussou dedicated himself wholeheartedly to BESIX. His extraordinary career traced a trajectory of remarkable achievements and inspiring leadership.
Beginning in Doha as a young professional, Mr Soussou quickly stood out for his diligence, keen intellect, and sound judgment. These qualities propelled him through positions of increasing authority and responsibility across the Middle East, cementing his reputation as an astute manager and advisor. By 1974, he had risen to Administrative Manager in the UAE. A decade later, his exemplary leadership was recognized with an appointment as Director in 1984.
From 2004 to 2009, Mr Soussou served with distinction as Vice Chairman of Six Construct. Even after stepping down from this role, his experience remained an invaluable asset to BESIX as he continued to guide the organization as Executive Director under the Board. Mr Soussou's retirement in 2017 marked the end of an exceptional career.
Throughout his long and impactful tenure, Mr Soussou played a pivotal role in cementing BESIX's standing and reach across the Middle East and beyond. His keen judgement and principled leadership were instrumental to our success. While we deeply mourn his passing, we acknowledge and appreciate the extraordinary legacy he leaves at Six Construct and BESIX.
Our senior leadership and local team had a close professional and personal relationship with Mr Soussou, having worked and travelled together over the years. He will be greatly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues who, like us, feel privileged to have known this remarkable man.
