FYI | Occupancy measurements at Head Office

1 min read

Dear Heads of Department,

In the coming weeks, you may notice external partners present on our work floors at our head office in Brussels. They will be conducting occupancy measurements as part of an initiative to gather accurate, data-driven insights for future floor planning and workspace optimisation.

These observations are part of our ongoing efforts to ensure we are using our current and future spaces as efficiently and effectively as possible. The results will inform important decisions around layout, usage patterns, and potential improvements to our work environment.

Concretely:

  1. Measurements will take place four times a day, over a two-week period in the coming weeks.
  2. External observers will be clearly identified by an orange badge with their company name ‘Measure-Men’.
  3. They will move through workspaces discreetly, noting occupancy levels only. There will be no personal data collection.

Important: no action is required from you or your teams. We ask that all staff maintain normal working routines. The value of this exercise depends on having a true, unaltered reflection of how our spaces are naturally used. Any adjustments in behaviour could compromise the accuracy of the data.

Your support in helping to create that authenticity is greatly appreciated. If any questions come up, I’m more than happy to answer them.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
