Fatality on Aramco Stadium Project

Group 1 min read

Dear colleagues,

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Rahmat Ali, a worker employed by our MEP subcontractor, lost his life this Wednesday 24 June following an incident with a pressurised firefighting pipe on the Aramco Stadium Project in Saudi Arabia.

This is a deeply sad moment for all of us. Our thoughts are first and foremost with Rahmat Ali's family, friends and colleagues, and with the teams on site who are directly affected by this tragedy.

Following the incident, emergency procedures were immediately activated, work in the affected area was stopped, and the relevant authorities were informed. An investigation is now underway to establish the facts and understand exactly what happened.

We would also like to acknowledge the care shown by our local project and HSE teams since the incident. They have responded with compassion and professionalism, coordinating with the authorities and ensuring that the appropriate measures were immediately put in place.

We remain fully focused on supporting our teams on site during this difficult time; counselling and psychological support are being put in place as we speak.

Safety is a value that defines who we are as a company. Today, however, our priority is simply to remember the human cost of this tragedy, to support those who are grieving, and to stand together as one team.

Please take a moment today to reflect, to look out for one another, and to speak up if something does not feel safe.
