Brussels, 16 September 2024 – Conneqtr is partnering with two leading companies, BESIX and SOCOGETRA, to showcase "The Digital Future in the Construction Sector" roadshow on 9 October in Brussels and 7 November in Marche-en-Famenne. This key event for construction professionals will focus on the latest digital innovations, including Conneqtr's Zen application, which is designed to simplify compliance with the new Belgian safety regulations for construction sites. The technology is currently used on 2,299 sites and approved by over 3,500 contractors and subcontractors across Belgium.

Event background and importance

Since 15 April 2024, the Basic Safety Decree has been fully in force across Belgium, requiring every worker on a construction site to hold a basic safety certificate. While this regulation is crucial for enhancing safety standards and reducing accidents, it introduces an additional layer of administrative complexity for construction companies. The events in Brussels and Marche-en-Famenne aim to provide practical and effective solutions to these challenges.

Steven Everaert, CEO of Conneqtr, explains: “As the Basic Safety Decree places new demands on businesses, our Zen solution – already used on more than 2,299 construction sites in Belgium – has become essential for managing compliance. The roadshow will highlight Conneqtr's strong presence in Wallonia and Brussels, where we serve clients like BESIX, SOCOGETRA, STADSBADER, Infra Group, Artes TWT, HOUBEN, IBENS and others. In partnership with industry leaders BESIX and SOCOGETRA, we will showcase best practices for effectively meeting these safety decree requirements.”

A unique opportunity for learning and networking

This roadshow, which takes place at the BESIX and SOCOGETRA headquarters, is specifically tailored for construction professionals, in particular senior executives from class 6 to class 8 companies. The roundtable discussion will explore innovative digital tools and best practices for ensuring social and safety compliance on construction sites while also improving operational efficiency and collaboration between contractors and subcontractors.

Zen: the digital solution for compliance challenges

Conneqtr will showcase its Zen application, a digital tool that enables contractors and subcontractors to easily verify online if their employees meet legal requirements. Zen streamlines the management of safety certifications, integrates with Belgian government digital systems, and ensures that every construction site meets the necessary standards. By simplifying these processes, Zen helps businesses focus on their core activities while minimising the risks of non-compliance and associated penalties.

Jean Polet, General Manager Key Projects at BESIX, says: “With regulations tightening in our industry, it’s important to look for innovative solutions. Conneqtr's Zen application effectively addresses administrative challenges, and we are proud to support this initiative, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation.”
Baptiste Simon, Executive Director and Director of HR at SOCOGETRA: “Zen sets a new standard for safety compliance in the construction sector. By guiding construction companies through complex regulations, Conneqtr helps the industry keep up with evolving social and safety standards, ensuring safer and more efficient work sites. This event will provide a clear overview of how to use Zen, its benefits, as well as first-hand best practices. We’re excited to support this event.”
