On Thursday 16 March 2023, two of BESIX Group’s projects received an award at the MIPIM 2023 in Cannes, France. BESIX RED took home the award for Best Residential Project with its breathtaking development in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Sluishuis. The Deloitte EMEA Training Centre, built by BESIX France, in Bailly-Romainvilliers (France) received the first prize in the category Best Alternative Project.

The MIPIM event is an annual international real estate event that brings together industry professionals to showcase, discuss and network on property developments and investment opportunities. The MIPIM Awards recognise and celebrate the most accomplished, sustainable and innovative projects in the real estate sector worldwide. Winning projects are selected based on their integration in the environment and community, quality of user experience, originality, economic contribution and architectural qualities.

BESIX Group is proud of these recognitions, which demonstrate the company’s continued commitment to quality, sustainability and innovation in all its projects.

Sluishuis - Best Residential Project

Sluishuis is a stunning development of BESIX RED and Vorm Ontwikkeling and was constructed by BESIX Nederland and Vorm Bouw. With its unique architectural design conceived by Bjarke Ingels Group and Barcode Architects, it offers the city of Amsterdam a new living experience entirely built on water, seemingly floating on the IJ-Lake. The cantilevered construction includes 442 apartments integrated into a 10-storey energy-neutral building. In addition, it offers a public green roof garden with a rooftop walkway, jetties for boats and catering facilities.

Deloitte EMEA Training Centre - Best Alternative Project

Developed by Nexity, Deloitte’s new training centre in Bailly-Romainvilliers (France) is an outstanding example in terms of energy performance and biodiversity. The complex, which is built by BESIX France and Dalkia, aims at obtaining no less than five top-class environmental certifications, such as the BREEAM Excellent and Biodiversity Excellent certifications. Designed by Dubuisson Architecture, the training centre includes a big multifunctional room, 43 classrooms, 12 meeting rooms, a restaurant and 265 bedrooms to accomodate Deloitte’s staff active in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA).

Last but not least, shout out to BESIX Group’s affiliate Vanhout, who competed with the beautiful Collegium residential project and made it to the Finalists’ list. This former college in Zottegem (Belgium) has been completely renovated into spacious, modern and bright apartments. Even if affiliate Vanhout didn’t bring an award home, it can be proud for having brought this historic building, which had been unused for years, back to life!
