BESIX Group, through its Belgian subsidiary BESIX Unitec, successfully completed the acquisition of T.F.C. nv and ACB nv on 14 December 2023. T.F.C. nv and ACB nv are part of Groupe T.F.C. Their activities will continue under the names BESIX Reditec and BESIX Soltec.

In recent years, BESIX Unitec has become a leading player in the construction and maintenance of energy and data networks, including fibre-optic networks in Flanders. The company has also long been active in the Walloon market, but mainly for national customers such as Elia and Proximus. For just over a year now, BESIX Unitec has also turned its focus to local Walloon customers. For example, BESIX Unitec has a contract with VOO, a Belgian telecom operator, for the reinforcement of existing coaxial networks and with SOFICO for the construction of fibre-optic networks. To further facilitate this geographical expansion, the need arose at BESIX Unitec to strengthen its commercial and operational footprint in the region. With the acquisition of T.F.C., BESIX Unitec finds the local anchorage and additional resources to support its expansion.

Groupe T.F.C. is an established player in Wallonia's utilities market and is ideally located near Namur where, in addition to offices and outdoor areas, it also owns a 1,600 m² warehouse and access to the Sambre. T.F.C.'s current order book includes framework agreements with utilities operating in Wallonia, such as Walloon distribution system operator ORES, Walloon water company SWDE, and telecom operator Proximus. These agreements remain in force after the acquisition and nicely complement BESIX Unitec's portfolio.

David Fobelets, who was the owner of T.F.C., will continue to manage the company operationally and, together with Denis Moïse, will further develop the business. In addition to his role as Business Line Mgr Wallonia at BESIX Unitec, Denis Moïse will take up the position of Managing Director of BESIX Reditec as of 1 January 2024. This will ensure maximum continuity. The 25 permanent staff of T.F.C. will all retain their employment.

David Fobelets: "We are extremely pleased to support BESIX Unitec's growth on the Walloon market. Our team of certified technicians is now strengthened by the extensive experience and expertise of BESIX Unitec, which is the ideal combination to further grow together on the Walloon market."

Annick Martin, Managing Director of BESIX Unitec: "We have already built a strong position in the energy and data networks market in Flanders in recent years. By acquiring T.F.C., BESIX Unitec can now also further respond to the booming utilities market and the growing data network rollout in Wallonia. We are already very happy with the expansion and warmly welcome the employees of T.F.C. nv and ACB nv."

Jean Polet, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BESIX Unitec: "The acquisition of T.F.C.'s activities is a logical step in BESIX Group's diversification strategy, which, through BESIX Unitec, has given us a strong position in the energy and data network construction and maintenance market. Already well established in Wallonia, T.F.C. will provide additional clout to BESIX Unitec to expand its activities in the south of Belgium.

T.F.C. nv has been in existence since 1996 and recorded a turnover of 4 million euros in 2022.
