BESIX expands its expertise with growing data centre portfolio in Belgium

Group 1 min read

BESIX continues to strengthen its expertise in data centre construction. After delivering several major facilities in Belgium and Australia, our teams have now secured a new contract for a data centre project near Charleroi.

As part of a joint venture with Jan De Nul, BESIX will build the core and shell (structure and envelope) of the facility, including foundations, slabs, auxillaries structures and all the underground utilities. The contract also covers the external works such as roadworks and landscaping. The new site will be located next to another data centre that BESIX and Jan De Nul are currently finalising. Works are scheduled to start in March 2026.

Data centres play a crucial role in today’s digital infrastructure, demanding advanced design and construction methods. As the demand for more powerful and technologically advanced facilities continues to grow, the challenges become even greater. A large team and significant manpower are being mobilised to ensure the project's success.

This project not only showcases BESIX's ability to manage complex and time-sensitive infrastructure projects but also reinforces our role in supporting the expansion of the digital economy across Europe and beyond.

Good luck, team!
