Week of 2 May

1. A safety award for DUT (UAE)

On the Uptown Tower construction site in Dubai, our Six Construct colleagues have achieved 16 million man-hours without lost time injury. This earned the project the Gold Award from the British charity Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. This is obviously a well-deserved recognition. This award was presented to our client, DMCC, who was clearly pleased and proud. Congratulations to all those involved in the operational teams and support departments. On each of our projects, the safety of our employees and partners must continue to be our #1 priority at all times.

2. Even better than the virtual thing (The Netherlands)

In The Hague, our colleagues from BESIX NL and their partner J.P van Eesteren delivered the first of two Grotius towers to their client Provast. It rises to a height of 100 metres and transforms the city's skyline. Congratulations to all the teams involved and to BESIX NL for this stunning milestone. The final result is impressive. It is also amazing to compare the real images with the original renders: there is no doubt that the towers are even more beautiful in real life! Soon it will be the turn of the second tower, 120 metres high, to be delivered. Keep up the good work for the last few miles!

3. This is Australia's best health facility (Australia)

In Australia, the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) building built by BESIX Watpac in Brisbane keeps on winning awards. Last week's award was no less significant, however, as the project won the national award for Best Health Facility, organised by Master Builders Australia. This remarkable award demonstrates both BESIX Watpac's strong operational capabilities, as well as the quality of its experience in health facilities. An outstanding achievement!

4. Open Sites Day (Belgium)

Open Site Day is an annual event in Belgium during which many construction sites open their doors to the public. This is the case again this Sunday 15 May, from 10 am to 5 pm. And as every year, BESIX Group will be well represented. In Brussels, visitors will be able to discover the impressive new RTBF headquarters (BESIX) and the Henneau bridge on the Brussels ring road (BESIX & BESIX Infra). In Antwerp, the renovation of the two Fierensblokken buildings can be visited (Vanhout). In Liège, visitors will discover the buildings of the new Paradis Express eco-district (BESIX & Wust), and in Marche-en-Famenne, the future new headquarters of Socogetra (Wust)! These are great visits for our colleagues in Belgium, to do with their own colleagues, friends, or family. More information on the construction sites is available on the event website.

And then this... BESIX banners for our sites

It is a design that you may have seen on television, during the Belgian Red Devils games, on the screens at the edge of the pitch. These same designs in the group colours and with the BESIX logo are also printed on banners for our construction sites, as shown in two examples below, in Leuven and Schoten. You want to equip your construction site with a similar BESIX branding? Contact BESIX Communication, who will send you the file and the contact details of suppliers to carry out the printing.
