1. Canberra calls: a new chapter for BESIX Watpac (Australia)

Whoop whoop, Canberra, here we come. Our BESIX Watpac colleagues have officially opened their new office in Australia’s capital, marking an important milestone in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). To celebrate, CEO Mark Baker and Giovanni Polimeni, General Manager NSW & ACT, welcomed clients and key stakeholders from government, industry and the private sector at the QT Hotel. The evening sparked valuable insights on long-term planning and collaboration, two essentials for shaping Canberra’s evolving infrastructure landscape.

As Giovanni put it: “We’re excited to work alongside industry and community to help the ACT bring projects to life with delivery certainty. With the opportunities ahead, from significant cultural institutions, defence projects, a new convention centre to a world-class AIS sporting and training facility, we are excited by what’s to come.”

2. One team, one field, one impressive result (Belgium)

A busy summer of sport lies ahead — from the World Cup to the Tour de France — but we already have our own champions to celebrate. At the Corporate Hockey Tournament, we could smell the grass, hear the sticks and feel the energy on the pitch. BESIX, Franki Foundations and BESIX RED joined forces as one team. And what a team it was. After wins against Socogetra, Eiffage and CIT Blaton, they secured an impressive first place in the final. A performance built on teamwork, determination and pure sporting spirit. Congratulations to everyone who took part! You made us proud.

3. From childhood dream to construction reality (The Netherlands)

What did you want to be when you were twelve? For Max, the answer was clear: work in construction! And today, that dream has come to life. In the TV programme When I Grow Up, our colleague Ron Nijs, Construction Manager, guided Max through a day on site, offering a glimpse into the world of construction. The setting could hardly be more inspiring: in the heart of Rotterdam, BESIX Netherlands and Rizzani de Eccher are transforming the historic Post building, a 1916 iconic landmark that withstood the Second World War, into a remarkable hotel and a 155-metre residential tower. A place where heritage meets innovation, and where the next generation finds its inspiration. Look at this fascinating episode on YouTube (in Dutch)!

4. A new way of living takes shape in Luxembourg

What does tomorrow’s housing look like? In Kirchberg, Luxembourg City, our colleagues at LuxTP are already building the answer. With the ground-breaking ceremony of the KIPI project, they have officially kicked off a development that responds to evolving lifestyles and the growing need for flexible living. Developped by Fonds Kirchberg, this striking triangular building brings together a vibrant community space on the ground floor (Quartier Stuff) and two co-living units above. Compact, clever and consciously sustainable, KIPI integrates a heat pump, photovoltaic panels and green outdoor areas. A promising start, made possible by the dedication of our colleagues on site. Thank you LuxTP for turning ambition into action!
