Group Me@BESIX 1 min read

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of BESIX, I am particularly pleased to announce the arrival of Mark Beyst back to our team.

Mark Beyst becomes General Manager Flanders & Brussels as of today, succeeding Karel Vermeersch.

Mark Beyst was until November 2019 Managing Director of Interbuild and Director at BAM Belgium. He has acquired extensive expertise within BAM Group and has a particularly impressive track record.

Before joining BAM Group in 2013, Mark Beyst worked at BESIX for 7 years as Commercial Director.

Please join me in welcoming him back to BESIX and give him your full support so we can, together with the team of BESIX Flanders & Brussels, successfully start the year 2020.

On behalf of BESIX, I would like to thank Karel Vermeersch for his contribution to our activities until recently.

An engineer by trade, Karel Vermeersch started his career abroad in the mid-eighties. After a spell at other contracting companies, he joined BESIX in 2001 where he led several projects in the Benelux region. These projects notably include Amsterdam’s Bijlmer ArenA railway station and the Justice Court in Ghent, to name but a few.

Since 2009, Karel Vermeersch acted as Director for BESIX Flanders and as a member of BESIX Contracting’s Managing Board. In this regard, he has actively contributed to the group’s impressive growth in Flanders and in the Brussels-Capital Region, which further enhanced BESIX’s leading position on the Belgian market.

Please join me in thanking him for his contribution to BESIX’s expertise and reputation. We wish him all the best in the future.

Rik Vandenberghe
CEO BESIX Group
